Our PAC (Parent Advisory Council) is the number one way General Gordon families support our school. All parents and guardians of children attending General Gordon are members of our PAC and entitled to attend meetings and vote. Teachers, staff and admin are non-voting members.
The PAC serves several purposes, including:
fundraising and volunteering to support and enhance student learning,
promoting involvement of parents and other community members in providing for the education of children,
contributing ideas and suggestions to the school about school programs, policies and activities,
and building our school community.
Everything we do is volunteer-run. Please email us at PACgeneralgordon@gmail.com to get involved.
Our classrooms. Every teacher receives PAC funds to be used for their class, whether on materials, equipment or experiences.
Our playgrounds. PAC funds enable us to enhance our school grounds and playgrounds.
Our guest experts. PAC funds allow us to bring in guest experts like Saleema Noon to offer parent education and enhance in-class learning.
Our technology. PAC funds help keep our school technology, like iPads, up to date.
Our library. PAC funds enable us to expand our library’s offerings, in particular broadening and diversifying the authors whose stories it holds.
Our sports equipment. PAC funds allow us to expand our sports equipment, encouraging physical activity and play.
Our music program. PAC funds enable us to provide our music room with sound equipment and musical instruments.
Our school community. PAC funds help provide access to PAC-led initiatives for Gordon students whose families wouldn’t otherwise be able to afford them.
Our legacy. PAC funds raised this year will ensure our school has the funds to continue our many initiatives for years to come.
Throughout the year we host many fundraisers for our school. You’ll find a list of ongoing initiatives at the link below.
